TECHNOLOGY
Low-pressure casting method
The prerequisite for a truly perfect and durable bike is a flawless cast blank. BBS uses the low-pressure casting process for its production. The aluminum alloy is pressed with a pressure of up to 2 bar in a multi-part mold. After cooling to about 400 degrees Celsius, the mold is opened, the casting blank is ready for further processing.
Flow-Forming
During flow forming, the casting blank produced by the low-pressure casting process is heated and rolled under high pressure. The rim bed is thinner, the material compacts and strength increases. The wheel is thus more stable and lighter in result.
FEM analysis
Finite element method FEM analysis uses a computer to determine and optimize the properties of a new type of wheel for structural behavior - such as strength or dynamics - during the design phase. The FEM analysis can be used to simulate how a wheel type will behave under real operating conditions and loads.

Milling the spokes with a light alloy wheel achieves the optimum balance between weight and stability. Hereby, in a special CNC milling process, lateral portions of the wheel spoke are removed, which are not relevant for the strength in order to reduce the rotating masses of the wheel.
Air Inside Technology
In the "Air Inside Technology" alloy wheels hollow chambers are inserted into the wheels, for example in the spokes or in the inner and outer shoulder. By this construction according to the hollow chamber principle, the rotating masses are extremely reduced. At the same time, the stability and load capacity of the wheel improves.
Changeable-collision
The patented anti-collision bumper made of polished stainless steel ensures the high-quality appearance of the wheel permanently. It is designed as a replaceable spare part and will be replaced in a few simple steps should damage occur. This even without the tire must be dismantled.
